Young Professional Committee
What are you doing today to make a difference tomorrow?
The Young Professional Committee is a group of young adults from across the Chicagoland area, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center through fundraising and friend-raising programs in collaboration with the Development Department and Museum Board of Directors liaisons.
At Illinois Holocaust Museum, we honor the memory of all who were killed in the Holocaust by teaching universal lessons regarding human rights, hatred, and bigotry. The Museum inspires visitors to become Upstanders who speak out for what’s right, turning powerful lessons of history into positive actions today and a better future tomorrow. The Museum activates this mission through cutting-edge exhibitions and innovative public programming that bring scholars, activists and artists together with the community to discuss how to improve our world. As the second largest Holocaust museum in the country, designed by world-renowned architect Stanley Tigerman, we welcome and touch the lives of 150,000 individuals annually, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and courage to take a stand for humanity. We provide significant support to more than 650 schools across Illinois and throughout the Midwest, including Chicago Public Schools, suburban school districts, and parochial schools, helping them to engage students around the topics of values, civics, and responsible citizenship.

When I looked around the large Hyatt Regency Chicago dining room filled with close to 2,000 of Chicago’s foremost business, civic and community leaders, I felt a sense of pride that I was part of a community that is supporting an extremely relevant and important cause.

The best way for me to ensure that my son grows up in a world where nothing even resembling the Holocaust is possible is to teach future generations to recognize bigotry and intolerance and to confront it.
