USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Collection
The Brill Family Resource Center at Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center provides full access to testimonies in the Midwest Visual History Collection, including more than 2,000 recordings from Chicago and the Midwest. This collection is available to visitors in the computer stations of the Brill Resource Center during regular center hours.
Our collection comes from more than 52,000 testimonies collected throughout the 1990s by hundreds of volunteers for Steven Spielberg’s Survivor of the Shoah Visual History Foundation. Now part of the University of Southern California, the Shoah Foundation has cataloged and indexed nearly all of the testimonies, providing access to them in universities, museums, and institutions around the world.
Interviewees or their family members may order DVD copies of their testimonies from the USC Shoah Foundation Institute.
