Virtual: Yugoslavian Resistance in World War II

May 14, 2024 | 3:30pm CDT

Online via Zoom

For Educators Grades 7-12

One of the longest-running and successful armed resistance campaigns against German forces in World War II took place in Yugoslavia, but Yugoslavian resistance had many different names, faces, and goals. In many ways, it modeled much of how we understand modern history in the Balkan Peninsula: layered, complicated, and brutal. But even in the face of adversity, even amongst different movements, resistance persisted. It makes for an interesting nuanced historical case study when discussing World War II and Holocaust history. In this workshop, participants will get a brief overview of the historical story of Yugoslavian resistance and receive materials to help introduce this case study to the classroom to supplement World War II history curriculums.

Workshop Includes:

  • Classroom Resources
  • 1.5 Clock Hours/CPDUs
