Ellen V. & Philip L. Glass Holocaust Commemorative Series

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, gather with us on-site at the Museum for the U.S. premiere of Resistance: They Fought Back. For decades, the world believed Jews went to their deaths like sheep to the slaughter during the Holocaust. Resistance: They Fought Back tells a different story. Created and co-directed by award-winning producer Paula S. Apsell, the ambitious and groundbreaking documentary tells the heroic tale of Jews who fought back in more than 60 armed rebellions—including six in death camps–and of thousands of Jewish partisans in forests of occupied Europe. Through interviews with historians, Survivors, and their families, the film belies a long-held myth and shines a new light on a lost chapter of history.

A pre-film reception will begin at 5:15 PM. After the screening, a live discussion will feature Apsell and Museum Board Vice President Richard Salomon.

Reservations required. Free to the public.
