Where The Children Sleep

The Joseph L. & Emily K. Gidwitz Memorial Foundation Gallery
March 15, 2018 – September 16, 2018

A boy without a bed.
A girl afraid to close her eyes.
A child who dreams of when bedtime didn’t bring terror.

More than two million children have been forced from their homes by the war in Syria. Refugee children in neighbouring countries or making journeys through Europe show us where they sleep while they await an uncertain future.

Where the Children Sleep is a wake-up call; a poignant story of what happens when children are displaced and must sleep on the streets and in fields as they await an uncertain future.

This provocative multi-media exhibit features powerful photos and film of Syrian refugee children in Europe and the Middle East by award-winning Swedish photojournalist Magnus Wennman.
