Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center’s Teen Leadership Board is comprised of 35 change-makers who are interested in making the Museum a more welcoming and accessible space for Chicagoland Teens. Members reinforce the Museum’s mission through involvement in family programs, events, and volunteer opportunities at the Museum. Teen Board members meet either in-person or virtually once a month, from October through May, and participate in programs throughout the year.
For the 2022-2023 school year, applications will be accepted in late summer 2022. Applicants must be currently in 8th – 12th grade to apply. Applications are due Wednesday, September 14th by 5:00 p.m. CST.
Please keep in mind the following requirements for the 2022-2023 Teen Leadership Board when applying:
• Teen Leadership Board members are required to attend meetings over the course of the school year. Meetings are typically held on the second or third Wednesday of every month, from October through May.
• Teen Leadership Board members must take at least two in-person volunteer shifts at the Museum over the course of the school year – this can include facilitating our Holographic Theater or Virtual Reality Experience, hosting public drop-in tours for special exhibitions, and other opportunities as they arise.
• Teen Leadership Board members will be required to assist in the planning and participate in the annual Teen Leadership Board & Young Professionals Committee’s Open House at the Museum, which will take place in late April 2023.
