Volunteer at the Museum

Become Part of the IHMEC Team

Volunteers are an integral part of the IHMEC team and serve as ambassadors for the Museum. We look for commitment, positive energy, flexibility, and great customer service skills.

While the Museum has received tremendous response to its initial volunteer training, we will always rely on the generosity of volunteers. We welcome new applications and especially seek applicants with some evening and weekend availability.

• Docents – Volunteers lead student and adult tours through the Museum. Docents commit to an intensive academic and hands-on training program. We are now accepting applications for 20-25 additional docents to be trained in Summer 2010.
  
  
• Visitor Service Volunteers – Volunteers work in public Museum positions – selling tickets, helping in the gift shop, at coat check, special events, the information and membership desks, etc.
  
  
• Administrative Volunteers – Volunteers work behind-the-scenes in various departments of the Museum, as needed.
