Teaching Trunk Program

Teaching Trunks - Coming for 2010-2011 School Year

IHMEC Teaching TrunkThe Illinois Holocaust and Genocide Study mandate states that every public elementary and high school shall include in its curriculum a unit of instruction studying the events of the Holocaust, as well as an additional unit of study on other acts of genocide across the globe.

IHMEC assists teachers by providing rich and varied resources through our Teaching Trunk Program. Teachers will be able to construct meaningful, age/grade appropriate lessons employing award-winning literature, resource and reference materials, as well as DVDs and teaching posters. The focus of each trunk has been carefully crafted to create a spiraled educational approach that builds upon prior knowledge and also contains alignment to State and National Learning Standards.
