Registration Information

Application Process

Participants are chosen on a rolling basis by a selection committee. Applications are due Monday, June 18, 2012 for consideration.

 

 

2012 Participant Cost

In order to provide all teachers with the opportunity to participate, IHMEC heavily subsidizes the cost of the Institutes.

 

 

teaching the holocaust | teaching genocide & Human rights

Participants pay the reduced tuition of $400 per week upon receipt of acceptance letter. (Aurora University tuition is additional.)

Tuition Scholarships: A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are available to CPS teachers through the support of Polk Bros. Foundation and to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin educators through State Farm. See bottom of page for details.

 

 

advanced holocaust studies seminar

Participants pay the reduced tuition of $250 upon receipt of acceptance letter.

 

 

Withdrawal/Refund Policy

To cover the cost of application processing, Institute materials, and pre-readings, the Museum will refund tuition amounts based on the following cancellation deadlines:

  • Before June 18: Full tuition less $25 processing fee
  • June 18-31: 50% refund of tuition
  • July 1 or later: No refund granted

 

 
  


 

Scholarship Application

Full-tuition scholarships are available for Chicago public and magnet school educators through the generous support of Polk Bros. Foundation and to Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin educators through State Farm.  Scholarships subsize the entire cost of the Institute. To apply for a scholarship, please submit a statement of need and why you wish to attend our Institute. Letters must be written on school or district letterhead with an original signature.

Recommended Lodging

For participants coming from out-of-country, out-of-state, or other far distances, we recommend staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites North Shore/Skokie. Call 847.583.1111 to reserve a room, and mention you are staying for the IHMEC Summer Institutes. The Hampton is walking distance from the Museum.
