The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Holocaust by honoring the memories of those who were lost and by teaching universal lessons that combat hatred, prejudice and indifference. We hope that your visit will be a chance for you to learn, explore, share, and remember the history and lessons of the Holocaust and the continuing impact it has today.
Museum Hours
Monday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday evening: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Ticket sales and final admissions end one hour before closing.
- The museum will be closed on the following holidays in 2010:
- Rosh Hashanah (Thursday, September 9)
- Yom Kippur (close at 2pm on Friday, September 17; closed Saturday, September 18)
- Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 25)
- Christmas Day (close at 2pm on Friday, December 24, closed Saturday, December 25)
- New Year's Day (close at 2pm on Friday, December 31; closed Saturday, January 1)
- All visitors must pass through metal detectors and have their belongings scanned.
- No photography or video or audio recording is allowed in the exhibitions.

No food, drinks, or gum are allowed outside of designated eating areas.

Writing utensils are prohibited in exhibition areas.
