Group Tour Policies

 

Before You Schedule 

 


 

Selecting a Visit Date and Time

In order to accommodate your request, please select three possible dates.
   
IHMEC is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday; and 11 a.m.to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Last admission is one hour before close each day. Please call us or check the IHMEC website for closures. 
  
  

Group Size

There is a 10 guest minimum. The maximum number of guests allowed on a docent-led group tour depends on the tour option you choose.  Tour sizes range from 10 – 160 
  
We will assign one docent for each group of 15 - 20 guests.

Karkomi Permanent Exhibition $15.00
Special Exhibition $15.00
Legacy of Absence Gallery $15.00
Tour Escort/Bus Drivers FREE
Speakers’ Bureau Presentation $100 (additional cost)
 
Group Tour pricing is applied to all scheduled visitors, including Museum members. 
 
 

Speakers’ Bureau Presentation 

For a more personalized visit, the Museum has a Speakers’ Bureau comprised of local Holocaust survivors and eyewitnesses that are available to address audiences at the Museum.   
  
An additional cost of $100 is charged for an in-house speaker request Requests for a speaker must made in advance of your tour, and is scheduled for either before or after your scheduled docent led tour.  . 
 

Dining Hall & Museum Café 

Book a lunch space for your group to enjoy before or after your tour. Space must be reserved in advance of your tour, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to request the Dining Hall and/or Museum Café on your group tour request form.  
  
Student Dining Hall
Provides table and chair seating for 75, and offers a space for meals.
 
Museum Café
Provides table and chair seating for 75, and is an informal gathering space that offers an area for meals and provides on-site vending machines.
  
Groups that have confirmed Dining Hall and Museum Café reservations are welcome to bring their own meals. Meals will be stored during your tour; refrigeration is not available.
 
 
For those who wish to have private use of our Dining Hall and Museum Café, or inquire about a private catered meal, the Museum offers catering and rental options. Pease email us or call 847.967.4849 for more information on pricing and availability. 
 

Parking

The Museum maintains bus parking spaces in our main lot. There is no fee to park in these spots. Buses cannot remain parked in front of the Museum’s main entrance doors. 
  
 
 

Confirmed Group Tour Reservation   


 

Payment - Deposit

A 50% deposit is due within 10 business days of receiving your group tour confirmation, and is calculated based on your confirmed number of guests. Your deposit will be applied to the total balance of your group tour admission. 
Online credit card payments are preferred.  Checks should be mailed to Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, Attn: Group Tours, 9603 Woods Drive, Skokie, IL 60077.
 

Payment – Balance

The final payment and final numbers are due 10 days in advance of your group visit unless you have made special arrangements with the Museum during the advance reservation process.  
 
Please note: Without full payment 10 days in advance of your visit, your reservation will be subject to cancellation.

Cancellation

Refund of your deposit is available if the cancellation is made three weeks in advance of the date of the visit. No refunds are available after that time.  Refunds or balance adjustments are not given for absentees or reduced numbers once your final payment is received.
