Join us for an inspiring day as students from across the Chicago area work together on engaging activities to build leadership skills and explore their roles as citizens of their local and global communities. Students will also spend time in Make a Difference! The Harvey L. Miller Family Youth Exhibition learning about empathy, respect, and the power of one voice to take a stand for positive change.

Keynote Speaker:

Olivia Rusk

Stand Up! Day features a keynote address by teen author and activist Olivia Rusk. Fifteen year old Olivia is totally bald due to the medical condition, alopecia. When she was only 8 years old, she shed her custom wig and bravely marched into her third grade classroom without hair. That day changed her life forever. What began as Olivia's desire to be "herself" quickly evolved into Olivia's message that "It's Okay to be Different." For more information on Olivia, visit www.oliviascause.org.
