Generation to Generation Launches
HRC Launches Generation to Generation Program

On Sunday, June 1st, more than 40 people gathered at the home of Abbey Romanek to celebrate the launch of the Holocaust Remembrance Committee's program, "Generation to Generation - The Stories Live On." The program
pairs a young person who is a member of the Holocaust Remembrance Committee with a Holocaust survivor, with the end goal of the young leader learning the story of survival of their pair. The young person will become a member of the museum's Speakers' Bureau when the survivor is no longer able to tell his or her story.
Sunday's program solidified the survivors' faith in future generations and keeping the legacy of the lessons of the Holocaust alive. As survivor Aaron Elster explained, he knows how crucial it is to share his experience one-on-one with a young person who can then share the story with others. "We're disappearing at an extremely fast rate," he said. "Our days, unfortunately, are numbered. Our hope is in them."
