Education and Field Trips
The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center seeks to provide the opportunity for all students and educators to learn about the Holocaust and human rights atrocities. These events are not aberrations of history but have implications for the world today.
By engaging visitors in conversations about these genocides, the Museum provides an environment that encourages exploration and creates a desire to learn more – to move from memory to action.
Fulfilling our mission through a broad spectrum of programming and resources:
- Museum field trips for ages 8 & above
- Annual Leo and Antonia Gershanov Memorial Student Contest
- Speakers' Bureau outreach visits
- Student Leadership Day
- Stand Up Day
- Summer Institutes on the Holocaust and Human Rights/Genocide
- Teacher training workshops
- Teaching trunks for grades K-12
- Brill Resource Center for research materials and suggested reading lists
- Community and teacher outreach
