featured speakers

In 2012, IHMEC will feature the unique first-hand testimony of our local Holocaust survivors. The goal of Student Leadership Day is to increase awareness and knowledge of the Holocaust and genocide and to challenge participants to think about lessons that can be learned from the past. Participants learn strategies for raising awareness of genocide, engaging in activities that promote global understanding. Students learn to use their voices to take a stand against prejudice and indifference, underscoring the important role we must all play in combating indifference, bullying and genocide throughout our world today.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Because of the day’s full schedule and all we have to offer your students, it is essential that all participants arrive on time and stay until the conclusion of the program.

We invite you to nominate up to eight of your students (9-11th grade) to attend this inspiring and powerful day.
Deadline for nomination letters is Thursday, november 1.
