April is Genocide Prevention Month

This April, survivors of genocide and their descendants will join anti-genocide advocates  from around the world to observe Genocide Prevention Month.  Survivors and advocates designated April as a month of commemoration because  the tragedies of Darfur, Rwanda, Bosnia, Cambodia, the Holocaust, and Armenia, remarkably and coincidentally, all have major anniversaries in April.

Numerous events will be taking place around the country where participants will commemorate past genocides and learn more about genocide prevention.
