Thanks for a Very Successful 2011 Annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner!
We extend our sincere thanks to all who supported our 2011 Humanitarian Awards Dinner. More than $3 million was raised for Holocaust remembrance and human rights education. This tremendous support will allow us to fulf
ill our powerful mission and help to make "Never Again" a mandate for today.
Over 2,000 attendees heard former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's poignant keynote address focusing on her experiences growing up in segregated Birmingham, as well as her outlook on foreign policy. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, PrivateBank President and CEO Larry Richman, and Grosvenor Capital Management CEO Michael Sacks were honored for their commitment to educating current and future generations about the dangers of unchecked bigotry. During the dinner, Sacks shared the news that he and the Museum have established the Mayor Richard M. and Maggie C. Daley Fund, the primary goal of which is to ensure that no Chicago Public Schools student is denied the opportunity to visit the Museum due to lack of funds.
Over $250,000 was raised for the new endeavor during the dinner. Those interested in contributing to the Daley fund can call 847-967-4821.
